Earring Organization!

Now that we moved into this “new” rental…I am so inspired to make everything super-organized. Yay! :) Next on my list: organize the heap of earrings on my desk!

I found this wooden sign at the Dollar store (for $1.00) and bought it for a “someday project”…

Then I found some great fabric at JoAnn (it was one of their 50% off remnants…and I still have a lot left!) I mod-podged it onto the fabric…

Then I marked and drilled holes 1 inch apart from eachother on the board…

Then I hand-screwed these fun little screws I got from Wal-Mart into the holes…

And put on my earrings!

There’s extra hooks if I happen to go out and buy some more… :)

Project cost:

Base sign: $1.00
Fabric: $1.73 (plus I have lots left over!)
Hooks: $2.93
TOTAL: $5.66

Ahhh…organized earrings make me so happy :) Is that weird?! Next project: necklaces!

I’m linking to the great parties on the right side of the blog…check them out! :)

Following from New Friend Fridays…Great idea! I have a similar type of solution going for necklaces!Just finished reading your last several posts… 1st let me say Buckley is adorable! 2nd your wedding picture is great, and third you asked about dieting experiences…My fiance and I always seem to have 10 pounds just hanging around that we would prefer to part with… We've done Nutrisystem on 3 different occassions- necessary because as soon as you stop eating their food, the weight all comes back. I am currently doing the Slimfast plan, and have been for months. I do okay with it, but every once and I while, I eat too much and the weight comes right back and so I start over. I guess that maybe I should just resolve myself to the fact that I am almost 36 and can't still be the same weight as I was when I graduated from high school…Lucy's Humanhttp://lucyshuman.blogspot.com

WOW! I don't "think outside my box" very often. I would have NEVER thought to buy a sign at the dollar store. I would have been running around buying a board, finding someone to cut it, etc … I LOVE the finished product. Gonna make one for me. If I like it, I'll make one for my daughter and daughter-in-law.

OK! GENIUS! and its cute too! So many of the other jewelry holders I have seen before are either not as cute or don't hold as much! This is perfect because you can totally customize it to fit your own style and needs. Great job!

I love this idea. I just bought the materials to make one of these for my necklaces. Now I will have to do it for my earrings also.
