I am a teacher. So I am not loving all of these “Back to School” signs e.v.e.r.y.w.h.e.r.e! But I guess I’d better make it more fun while the inevitable looms nearer…
I inherited this easel from another teacher in my school. It has sat around not being fully used, for the past two years in my classroom.
I found this lovely mistinted paint from Lowes for $5.00, and knew it would be a fun classroom color. So I painted the legs this fun color
Then, I bought my first quart of chalkboard paint, and I think I’m in love! The man was trying to sell some whiteboard paint (did you know that’s the “new thing”?!) But I like the old-school chalkboard.
I measured, made a border with some leftover neutral paint.
and put 3 coats of the chalkboard paint in the middle!
It’s sitting in my living room drying right now, but I’m so excited to bring it to my classroom! I think it’ll be great
*UPDATE: Here is a picture of it in use in my classroom
Another picture… (like those BRIGHT yellow floors? haha)
Let me know your thoughts…I love hearing from you! Also, please check out the amazing parties I’ll be linking up to on the sidebar.
