Ready for another hand-made Christmas gift? How about this necklace:
I originally found the idea for this necklace at Oopsey Daisy, which directed me to this tutorial at Blue Cricket Design. You know what I say? Why re-create the wheel if someone’s done a beautiful job of writing a tutorial on making that wheel
All you need for this project is some washers (I bought mine at ReStore – only 25 cents for 20!) but I also bought some more to have in “stock” from Home Depot. I first made it with a simple single ribbon to get the pattern down, but once I felt confident, I ripped them all out and tried a “double ribbon” technique. It was a little more frustrating, but nothing you can’t handle
So, this necklace went to my sister for Christmas, who has a love for funky necklaces. I think she liked it
Let me know your thoughts, or let me know if you end up making your own! They’re really cute, and I see myself making some more in the near future

That's really neat! I think it would also look great if the washers where painted black!
WOW!! Christina, this turned out absolutely adorable!! I love your ribbon!! What a fabulous handmade gift!!!
Great gift. Lots of things could be done to the washers before putting htem togehter.Kathy
Super Cute!!
This is awesome. I wonder if hubby has enough washers laying around for me to make one or two or three
I love your repurposing imagination here. All kinds of possibilities depending on the color of ribbon. Great job!I hopped over from Brambleberry Cottage

Ah, so it's *you* who has the washer necklace post. Every time I've link up my post at a party I see your post nearby.
And, every time I think….well, THAT craft is going to be hit!! Love the look of that necklace.
