The woman behind the blog

It’s been a little while since I’ve done an “about me” post, and I feel like a lot has changed in my life over the past few years!  I’ve also gained new followers, and I want everyone to know who this Christina is that they’re following…and what the heck her “adventures” are all about!

So – I’m Christina.

I’m 26 years old, and I’ve been married for 4 years.  This was my hubby & I on June 14, 2008:

We added a “dog baby” to our family in April 2010.  We rescued Buckley from the local SPCA and he is truly our first “child”!

My husband & I have both been blessed with two wonderful and supportive families:

We have totally awesome extended families too – who we just love spending time with!!

So, we’re very blessed with the love & support we have in our families.  We are also really excited to start thinking about expanding our little family in the next few years!

Right now, we’re saving up money by living in an apartment attached to my parent’s house.  We’ve been here since May 2011, and it’s been the biggest blessing as we’re working on paying off school loans and saving money to put a down payment on a house.

Spring 2011 013

For the past few years, my life has been consumed by my work.  I taught in a primary Autism support classroom for 4 years, and I absolutely loved my kids that I served every day.

Fall 2011 010

I officially resigned from my teaching job in June 2012, as I am working to re-gain some perspective in my life as I work on putting God and my family first in my life.

I originally started this blog for some “stress relief” from my teaching career.  I found out about the amazing world of thrifty DIY projects and blogs, and I never looked back.  I was able to run my blog as more of a hobby from the summer of 2010-2012, but now I am able to devote much more time to it and make it more of a business.

I love making my world a more beautiful place, and doing it with an incredibly tight budget.  My hubby puts up with my crafting ADD, and my crazy ideas (which sometimes work and sometimes do not)!

I am so far away from “having it all together” – but aren’t we all?

My interaction with my readers & subscribers is what drives me to bring you new awesome projects.  I love hearing from YOU and forming relationships with YOU.  This “blog world” is so bizarre, but I know that I have found true friends that I may never meet in person.  You have blessed me up to this point, and I am excited to form other new friendships in the future!
