Let me start by saying that this was a pain in my butt. Seriously. Have any of you ever done a yarn-wrapped wreath before? I had been admiring them for years, and finally decided to do one this year. Scratch that – I was going to do TWO yarn-wrapped wreaths. It wasn’t HARD to wrap, it was actually pretty simple! But after wrapping one, I realized I just didn’t have enough patience to do two.
So ended up just wrapping the inside wreath in yarn, and wrapping the outside wreath with strips of burlap. MUCH easier!
My husband complained told me that our wreath was “too small” last year. So I decided to go BIG this year – and did that by doubling my wreath!
I used the pool noodle trick – I bought 2 pool noodles from the dollar store and just cut one down a little bit. Then I duct-taped the ends together to make a circle. You can kind of see it in this picture from my Instagram the other week:
Then just hot glue & wrap – over and over and over again!
Thankfully I like the finished result!
Once I got both wreaths wrapped, I simple stuck and hot glued some fall “bits” I got at JoAnn’s last year on super clearance. I love that they can be shoved in between the cracks of the two wreaths – it makes the whole process even easier!
I just hung it up by a strip of burlap, and stood back to admire! And my husband truly loved the new and improved “big wreath”!
Have YOU ever tried to wrap a yarn wreath? Does anyone else have issues with tedious crafting like me?

That is really a great end result! Love it. I can totally see how that would take a lot of patience to do though – I’m not sure I would attempt even one! Good for you getting it done – I really like the two textures, the yarn and the burlap.

What a cute idea to do a double wreath! I wrapped a wreath in yarn and it was so exhausting I never ended up embelishing it
This is my favorite of all the fall wreaths I’ve seen this year! LOVE the double size! I’ve yet to try wrapping with yarn, but I love the look, so just might have to go for it!

Love your wreath! I’ve been wanting to create a yarn wrapped wreath and at least now I’ll know to muster up all my patience and hot glue.
All your time and energy into making this really paid off! It’s so pretty!

I did a Halloween yarn wrapped wreath, I LOVE the look, but the time it took was insane. Your wreath looks amazing. I think I may do a Fall wreath with this technique, great job!
I second that emotion. Those yarn wreaths are adorable, but the wrapping is for the birds. I get so impatient!!!
