First of all – THANKS to all of you for your sweet words of encouragement last week. There were still setbacks this week, but overall it was much better!
30 weeks always sounded “so far away”…and here we are!!
We got to see our sweet baby on Monday!! Everything looks GREAT! The baby weighs about 3.5 lbs. right now, and they say that means it might be about 8.5 lbs. at the time of delivery. He/she is also head-down already- yay!
Our little baby has been moving and shaking this week – it’s so visibly noticeable now!! If you look closely, you can see the little fist pump coming through in the picture. You can see the baby rolling and somersaulting all over the place lately!
I got trained on my gestational diabetes this week. I’m on a very specific diet (which is actually a TON of food). It’s a lot of prep and planning! I’ve been testing my blood sugar levels 4x per day – and so far everything is great!! If it keeps up, I won’t be needing to take any insulin:
Finally – we got a crib!! I put out a desperate “ISO” on a local mom’s FB group, and a sweet woman answered me and told me that she had a crib that she would sell me! More details to come on our beautiful new crib…
How far along? 30 weeks
Maternity clothes? absolutely! It was SO HOT this week, and I’m realizing I might need to look into some maternity shorts (yuck…)
Sleep: I seem to wake up at 4:00 AM on the dot. Every morning. And I’m wide awake for hours after that – so frustrating!
Best moment of the week: Seeing our baby on the ultrasound & hearing that everything looks perfect!!
Miss anything? Now I miss cookies & cake – things I really didn’t eat a lot of before…but knowing I can’t have them makes me want them a lot!!
Movement: Yes! Baby is moving SO MUCH and getting SO STRONG!
Food cravings: Um – cookies. And orange juice. Really can’t have either – bummer!!
Anything making you queasy or sick: Nope!
Gender prediction: I have NO idea! Honestly, I’m split down the middle & could go either way at any time!
Labor signs: Nope
Symptoms: Wow – SO MUCH SWELLING this week. It’s comical how big my feet/cankles are!!
Belly button in or out? In – but it’s very shallow!!
Happy or moody most of the time? Generally happy – had my moody moments (when it was disgustingly hot & sticky outside)
Looking forward to: Scheduling another ultrasound with the perinatal center (standard for anyone with gestational diabetes). I heard a rumor this might be a 3D ultrasound – so that’s really exciting!!
[…] you may have heard, I am now a gestational diabetic. Boo! I think it’s something about the “forbidden fruit” – because I am DYING […]
