I just love Sam – she’s been a faithful reader & linker to “20 Below Thursdays” for a while now – and I love seeing what she posts! If you love seeing how new homeowners transform their spaces, you’ll love The Junk House! She’s a girl after my own thrifty DIY heart!
Hi! I’m Sam from The Junk House and I’m so excited Christina invited me over today! I hope she’s having an amazing time on vacation and I’m really jealous so happy for her.
I became a first time homeowner last year and The Junk House is my story of turning a foreclosed house into my happy home.
My first room makeover was the guest bathroom. I painted the walls and vanity, replaced the giant mirror with a smaller framed one, changed out all the fixtures, and added accessories. To date it’s still the only “finished” room in the house. Although, it’s now my boyfriend’s bathroom, so it’s not nearly as clean and organized anymore.
I also share lots of projects (large and small) on my blog. One of my favorite projects (and most time consuming) is my stenciled upholstered headboard. I love it and pet it gently before I go to bed every night…just kidding (kinda).
And then there are the small projects, like the mini “pallet” sign that I made from garden stakes.
Also, I love garage sales, thrift shopping and finding a good Craigslist deal. One of my best Craigslist deals was this desk that I painted white and I replaced the hardware with pretty glass knobs and pulls. It looks like a completely different desk from the before picture!
Even if none of that interests you, you should still stop by because I have 2 cute doggies and they are featured pretty often =)
